Marie grew up in Worthing, England, and later emigrated to the United States. She got her B.F.A. at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, where she studied painting and film animation. More recently she began a Master's degree in expressive arts therapy.

A successful new media designer for over ten years, Marie currently works for Bank of America. She now resides in San Francisco, California, where the weather is only slightly better than Worthing.

Marie is a member of SCBWI. She has illustrated many books and comics for her own pleasure, as well as to delight friends, family, and strangers.
