Marie grew up in Worthing, England, and later emigrated to the United States. She got her B.F.A. at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, where she studied painting and film animation. More recently she studied psychology at CIIS.

A successful interactive visual designer for over ten years, she now resides in San Francisco, California (where the weather is only slightly better than Worthing). She has written and illustrated many books and comics for her own pleasure, as well as to delight friends, family, and strangers. Publication of a graphic novel is in the works.
